Joseph Prichard is a Los Angeles–based creative director and designer. His practice pairs strategic thinking with joyful formmaking to create work that resonates with audiences both intellectually and emotionally. Joseph is Co-Founder and Creative Director at Kilter, a full service design agency based in Los Angeles, where he helps to guide the development of brands and communication campaigns for a variety of clients.
Previously Joseph served as Associate Creative Director for the cause-based design and marketing agency DISTINC_. Prior to DISTINC_ he worked as Director of Creative Services for California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) where his work was honored with awards from the University and College Designers Association (UCDA) and the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).
Joseph holds a BFA in Film from the University of Southern California and an MFA in Graphic Design from CalArts. He has worked with a number of leading Los Angeles’ design firms including, AdamsMorioka, ferroconcrete, Karten Design, Kim Baer Design Associates, Lux Typographic + Design, Muñiz/McNeil, Louise Sandhaus Design and Durfee|Regn Architects.
Joseph’s work has been featured in publications such as Monocle and Print and was included in the 2012 Venice Architecture Biennale, the 2010 California Design Biennial and the 2012 book Information Graphics from Taschen publishers.
