Stagecoaches and Dinosaurs
October 1, 2011
If you live in the LA area I encourage you to check out two recently opened exhibitions which I had a hand in designing. The first, Improbable Gateway: The Los Angeles Transportation Legacy opened at The Banning Museum in Wilmington this August. The design of the exhibit —which tells the story of the development of LA’s early transportation networks from stage coach lines to the construction of an artificial deep water harbor— was a collaboration between myself and Durfee|Regn Architects. You can see more images of the show here.
I was also fortunate enough to recently work with the amazing folks over at Kim Baer Design Associates on the graphic design for the new dinosaur hall at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.
Both shows are permanent exhibits and both are well worth a look!
2010 California Design Biennial: Action/Reaction
July 30, 2010
I was honored to have my Better Bikeways initiative (a proposed redesign of LA's bike route signage) chosen for inclusion in the 2010 California Design Biennial: Action/Reaction. The exhibition is on view at the Pasadena Museum of California Art through October 31st, and features a host of other interesting projects in the fields of Graphic Design, Architecture, Transportation Design, Fashion & Product Design.
The Pasadena Weekly recently ran a nice piece about the biennial that briefly mentions my project. If you're in the LA area I encourage you to drop by and take a look.
