McBean Featured in Threaded magazine
The latest issue of Threaded magazine, features a typographic essay written and designed by CalArts faculty member Michael Worthington. The piece is set in McBean, a type family based on the CalArts logo which I commissioned to serve as the Institute’s official typeface while serving as CalArts’ director of creative services. McBean, designed by CalArts alumnus Benjamin Woodlock, mixes geometric and humanist touches—as well as a wealth of alternate characters—to create a type family that reflects the vibrant and multifaceted character of the school.
